Cooking a hotdog

Born in Arkansas into a family heritage of coal miners, hard times were still around from the depression. These simple people taught me the value of love and honesty. A big garden was a must. What most people called antiques we used every day.  Milking cows by hand, dasher churns, coal burning pot belly stove in the main room. Salt pork cooking in the skillet along with biscuits in the oven.  Granddad teaching me to shoot my first rifle. Hunting and fishing were the main sport. Later now in life I have gone back to some of these interests.  Learning to live off the land has become very important to me.  Maybe it is the joy of being non dependent on the system....All these lessons from youth are a passion and the joy of survival without modern convenience gives me a sense of independence. Now helping others learn about the great outdoors is an interest of mine.

The three daughters keep me busy, even though they are all grown now. Trinnica is writing and on the internet working with her friends and co-workers. Karasten is a new mother to my grandson Jonathan (Her story is on page 3) and also an LPN..thinking of going back to school for her RN.  Laurinelle is the wife of Russell Moudy, my son-in-law. They are starting a new life here in Okmulgee. Ginni, the wife and I are working on building our retirement home on 40 acres near Ponca City, Okla.

The other big things are pets..You will see various pictures of the St. Bernard dogs and the Persian cats..We like hair!!

…..helping others learn about the great outdoors is an interest of mine…..
